Laba. Štai ir paskutinė 2018 metų „Diageo” leidimų apžvalga. Prisipažinsiu, bet visas tris apžvalgas taip strategavau, kad paskutinėje apžvalgoje būtų tų metų įdomiausi (man) viskiai. Tad šiandien vienas labai senas grūdinukas, Oban ir Caol Ila. Be to, bus ir pirmų kartų ir seniausių viskių…cha 😀 . Tad, jeigu leisit, pradedam.

Carsebridge 48YO, 1970/2018, 43.2%, Pakartotinio pildymo statinės (hogsheads), Tiražas 1000 butelių, CS, 2018
Pirmas Carsebridge ir beabejo tai yra seniausias viskis šiuose namuose iki šiol. Ši distilerija buvo įkurta 1799 metais ir uždaryta 1983. Apie 1951 metus distilerija buvo perkvalifikuota iš „malt” į „grain”. Beje, dalis šios distilerijos pastatų buvo nugriauti 1992 metais. Nosis. Rami, elegantiška, labai kvapni, lengvai saldi ir truputį prieskoninga. Tokia visiškai poilsiaujanti nosis, neturinti ką įrodinėti. Kokoso riešutas, gėlių sodas, baltas šokoladas, marcipanas, medus, šienas, bandelės, vanilės ankštis, truputis mėsos prieskonių. Yra ir egzotinių vaisių kaip bananai, melionai ir ananasai. Trumpa šlapio rūsio užuomina. H2O. Tik keletą lašų. Tokie viskiai linkę būti trapiais. Persikai, šlapias popierius, saulėgrąžų aliejus ir muskusas. Skonis. Ramus, lengvas, trapus, vidutiniškai prieskoningas, sausas, lengvai saldus ir truputį kartus. Žali obuoliai, ananasai, bananai, kiviai. Toliau seka mėsos prieskoniai, baltas vynas, virti citrusai, fermentuoti vaisiai ir ąžuolo prieskoningumas. H2O. Tik keletą lašų. Saldesnis ir plonesnis. Prieskoniai ir arbatžolės. Poskonis. Kažkur tarp trumpo ir vidutinio. Labai lengvas, be aiškios užuominos. Bazilikas ir ąžuolas. Mano trys centai. Nosis atkabino išties daug balų. Manyčiau tai labiau kolekcinė vertybė nei viskio geek’ų reikalas. Dar įstrigo vienas dalykas, kad nei vienoje dalyje nebuvo ąžuolo pertekliaus, anaiptol, viskas puikiai sustyguota. 88 taškai. P. S. Pavojingai geriamas.

Oban 21YO, 1996/2018, 57.9%, Pakartotinio pildymo europinio ąžuolo statinės (butts), NCF/NCA/CS, 2018
Dar vienas seniausias viskis, kurį esu ragavęs iš Oban distilerijos. Ir šiaip, kiek šios distilerijos viskių jūs esate ragavę? DE, 14YO, galbūt Little Bay ir dar gal Game of Thrones leidimą. Panašiai ir aš. Nosis. Pilna, gili, labai kvapni, truputį nešvari ir su daug veiksmo. Fermentuoti egzotiniai vaisiai, vaškas, salyklo saldumas, grūdų malūnas, apelsinų žievelės, ąžuolo dulkės, šviesus medus. Kas labai patiko tai įvairūs kaulavaisiai, kaip persikai, abrikosai, geltonos slyvos. H2O. Bičių duonelė ir juoda duona. Keletas lašų panaikina nosyje esantį nešvarumą. Momentais atrodo, kad kvapas keičiasi į parfumuotą pusę. Taip kad atsargiai su vandeniu. Skonis. Po puikios nosies čia randu nusivylimą, jeigu taip galima pasakyti. Aštrus, sausas, aitrus, truputį alkoholiškas, lengvai saldus ir salykliškas. Kaulavaisių kauliukas, salyklo saldumas, bazilikas, rozmarinas, vanilė, karamelė, sodo vaisiai ir ąžuolas. Geras kūnas. Didelis prieskoningumas. H2O. Įdomu. Panašu, kad vanduo kiek aptvarko aštrumą, didelį aitrumą ir sukuria daug malonesnį vaizdą. Poskonis. Vidutinio ilgumo su lengvu sausinimo efektu. Žoliškumas ir mėsos prieskoniai. Mano trys centai. Sunkiai vertinamas. Viskis iš esmės nėra blogas (ypač nosis), bet skonis vienpusiškas ir vidutiniškas. Skonyje jaučiamas kažkoks disonansas. Statinės, panašu, kad neatliko savo darbo arba tiesiog negalėjo. Nežinau. 84 taškai.

Caol Ila 35YO, 1982/2018, 58.1%, Pakartotinio pildymo amerikinio (hogsheads) ir europinio ąžuolo (butts) statinės, Tiražas 3276 buteliai, NCF/NCA/CS
Seniausia Caol Ila, kurią teko ragauti. Bet, ei, neužsiprogramuojam. Nosis. Ojojoj. Susigulėjųsi, tiršta, gyva, kompleksiška, labai švari. Durpės gal ir nėra daug likusios, bet kiek kitokio veiksmo vyksta. Kepinti lazdyno riešutai, druska, jodas, alyvuogių aliejus, bazilikas, eukaliptas, mentolis, šviežios bandelės, citrinos, šaltas laužas. Po šio puikaus benefiso prisideda ir keletas tropinių vaisių. Momentais ir gėliškumas kiša galvą. Taip pat yra arbatžolių pusė. H2O. Dar daugiau šviežių bandelių. Žali obuoliai, lakas ir smėlis. Durpiškumas sumažėja, bet aš tame nematau jokios problemos. Skonis. Tirštas, šviežias, galingas, saldokas ir labai pilnas. Jaučiama didelė branda. Kakavos pupelės, cigaras, medžio anglis, citrinos, pipirmetė, eukaliptas, džiovinti vaisiai, rūkytos slyvos, alyvuogių aliejus, kepta žuvis, šiltas sviestas. Taip pat ir tropiniai vaisiai nesnaudžia: bananai, melionai, mangai. H2O. Vis dar labai galingas ir tirštas. Daug daugiau įvairių citrusų. Žoliškumas. Rozmarinas ir juoda arbata. Poskonis. Ilgas, labai ilgas. Rūkytas kumpis, citrusai ir jų žievelės, alyvuogės, skrudintas medis. Mano trys centai. Čia ne viskis, o jau kažkokia pasaka. Galima ilgai ir nuobodžiai kalbėti, bet nemanau, kad viskis to norėtų. Viskis, kuris sukurtas dideliems kartėliams pergyventi. 93 taškai, rimtai?
